From Picasso to. Warhol


From July 3 to September 28 at Palazzo Guinigi “From Picasso to Warhol – The vinyl covers of the great masters”: an exhibition of artist covers. The Municipality of Lucca grants patronage to the exhibition ‘From Picasso to Warhol – The vinyl covers of the great masters‘, scheduled from July 3 to September 28, 2025 at Palazzo Guinigi. After the success of the stops in Rimini, at the Fellini Museum – Castel Sismondo, and in Castelnuovo di Porto (RM) at Rocca Colonna, where it recorded over 10,000 visitors, the exhibition arrives in Lucca with a selection of over 150 vinyl covers that have become true works of art. The exhibition, curated by Vincenzo and Giorgia Sanfo, is organized by BLU&BLU NETWORK and ART BOOK WEB, with the collaboration of Alessandra Mammì, Red Ronnie and Sergio Secondiano Sacchi. The exhibition of artist covers The exhibition itinerary traverses the history of modern and contemporary art through the record covers created by artists such as Picasso, Mirò, Warhol, Basquiat, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, Matisse, Jean Dubuffet, Joseph Beuys and many others. Also present are important Italian names such as Mimmo Paladino, Marco Lodola, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Francesco Clemente, Marco Nereo Rotelli, Ferruccio D’Angelo and Gilberto Zorio.

The exhibition also documents the contribution of internationally renowned photographers such as Araki, Mapplethorpe, Luigi Ghirri, and illustrators such as Guido Crepax and Milo Manara. Special attention is paid to the contribution of Andy Warhol, whose numerous works are exhibited, from his early experiments in the 1940s to his last cover for MTV, shortly before his death.

The exhibition also highlights collaborations between visual artists and musicians, such as those between Lady Gaga and Jeff Koons, the Rolling Stones and Andy Warhol, Bruce Springsteen and Annie Leibovitz.

Exhibition hours

From Picasso to Warhol – The vinyl covers of the great masters will be open every day, from 10:00 to 19:00 with continuous hours.

The full ticket is 12 euros, the reduced one is 10 euros. Tickets can be purchased online on the Torre Guinigi website or directly at the ticket office, in via Guinigi 29. A cumulative ticket is also available at a cost of 15 euros, valid for the exhibition and for the visit to the Torre Guinigi.
