A Night at the Cotton Club

Soft lights, stage smoke, fast-paced rhythms, and elegant attire: "An Evening at the Cotton Club" transports you straight to 1930s New York, to the legendary Harlem venue where jazz, swing, and entertainment blended in a unique experience that transported entire generations into the modern age. First opened in Harlem in 1920, the Cotton Club became a musical hotspot, especially from 1922 to 1935 under the management of Owney Madden, a reckless gangster who, during the height of Prohibition, lit up New York's nightlife by entertaining audiences eager to break every rule, including that of manners. Ellington, with his orchestra, quickly became the leading figure of this period, and thanks to the broadcast of his shows via radio, he took his music and band beyond the city limits, achieving success worldwide. Osmanngold leads you on a journey through these smoky atmospheres of crime, rivers of whiskey, and famous, yet fatal, singers.

The Osmanngold Orchestra's concert pays homage to the glamorous and irresistible atmosphere of the Cotton Club, a temple of African-American music and the stage for giants such as Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong. It's a chance to relive the refined and captivating sounds that shaped the history of orchestral jazz and swing. "An Evening at the Cotton Club" is more than a concert: it's a musical journey through an era that left an indelible mark on style, culture, and music.

Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the Cotton Club and relive one of the most fascinating eras in jazz history. We look forward to seeing you!
