Barga is also home to the flavors of autumn, thanks to Barga Castagna, an event taking place from Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd.

The event, organized by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Barga, will be held, as it always does, in Piazza Pascoli. Stalls set up for the occasion will offer seasonal specialties such as mondine (rice balls), necci (a type of sweet bread made with chestnut flour), frittelle (fried bread), castagnaccio (a type of chestnut cake), as well as sandwiches and mulled wine.
