On the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Castellaccio di Aquilea, the Aquilea Village Committee presents an historical, landscape, and cultural walk to the Castellaccio on Saturday, September 26th.
A special opportunity to rediscover the local area's historical memory and immerse oneself in the surrounding landscape: throughout the entire route, re-enactors in period clothing, vehicles, and equipment will accompany the group.
Schedule of the Day:
3:00 PM: Gathering at the Aquilea church square
3:30 PM: Start of the walk with stops at the most characteristic and scenic points
4:00 PM: Arrival at the Castellaccio with an explanation of the site's historical background
5:00 PM: Stop at the Aquilea war memorial with a flag-raising ceremony
5:30 PM: Afternoon snack (merenda) at the Sagra della Zuppa (Soup Festival) stand
