The traditional arrival of the Befana in Lucca's Piazza San Francesco is a shared anticipation shared by the entire city. The event is scheduled for Tuesday (January 6th) at 2:30 pm in the square, organized by the Piazza San Francesco Popular Committee in collaboration with the Lucca Fire Brigade, the Lucca Green Cross, and the Fermento association.

Twenty-eight years of Befanata in the historic centre: a celebration that year after year draws thousands of people, young and old, with countless families flocking to San Francesco to witness the spectacle of the Flying Old Woman. What makes Lucca's Befana unique is the moment when the old lady descends from heaven on her broomstick, thanks to the involvement of the Fire Department, to distribute sweets and stockings to all the children in the square.
