On Sunday 19 May the Brancoli Gothic Line Committee organizes its main annual event which will allow you to take a guided tour of the fortifications of the Gothic Line and attend various historical re-enactments where scenes of daily life of the time will be represented. The event took the name of "Brancoli Living History" to indicate the experience of living history by walking along the path on Monte Pittone. This year this event was also included in the official program of "ViVi Lucca" events of the Municipality of Lucca.

An experience that will allow you to experience history, make memories to raise awareness of a culture of peace. Group departures for guided tours of Monte Pittone are scheduled at the following times: 9:00 - . 9.30 - 10.00 - 10.30 with meeting at the Church of San Giusto di Brancoli.

The groups have a limited number and reservations are required for participation at the chosen time, using the contacts indicated below or in the flyer. During the walk along "Monte Pittone" information will be provided on the history passed in these places and on the bunkers, pitches and trenches that are still preserved along a route of high historical and landscape value. During the excursion it will be possible to meet people in civilian clothes who will stage and explain the difficulties of the local population of the time, soldiers of the Axis army stationed in the various fortifications and partisan troops moving in the rear of the paths of Monte Pittone. In a specific area, near the Church of San Giusto di Brancoli, it will be set up and it will be possible to visit a camp with various departments of the Allied army.

At the end of the route the Committee organizes a lunch for all participants with typical products of the area in the square of the Church of San Giusto di Brancoli with a beautiful view of the plain below.

The events will not end with the guided tours!

After lunch, all the historical re-enactors will gather in the Allied Camp area and here "re-enactment displays" will be organized where various situations that actually happened at the time will be staged.

During this day there will also be the opportunity to visit the Brancoli Memory Museum with its rooms divided into thematic areas.
