On Tuesday 26 May 2026 at 5.30 pm, the Auditorium of the “Luigi Boccherini” Conservatoire in Lucca will host Experimental Night, the final concert of the Experimental Impro-Ensemble Lab workshop led by Prof. Benedetto Boccuzzi.

The final performance will feature the ensemble made up of the students taking part in the workshop, who will be engaged in an experience focused on free and guided improvisation, experimentation with timbre, and the exploration of the languages of experimental contemporary music.

Through the practice of conduction, the use of extended techniques and the interpretation of graphic scores, the concert presents to the audience the work carried out throughout the day, transforming the creative process into a shared performative experience.

The programme includes music by Cornelius Cardew, Sylvano Bussotti, John Cage, Earle Brown and Gianni Lenoci, in a programme dedicated to the open and collective practices of late 20th-century experimental music.
