The 2025 season of historical reenactments opens!

With pride, the Compagnia Balestrieri di Lucca kicks off the celebrations with the 656th edition of the Festa della Libertà, in memory of the liberation from the tyranny of Pisa in the distant 1300s.

11.30 am Solemn nomination of the Gonfalons

11.45 am Performance by the Musici e Sbandieratori group in the evocative setting of Piazza San Martino Afternoon Program

3.00 pm Crossbow shooting competition at the Baluardo San Pietro

3.30 pm Musici e Scherma storica show (via Fillungo - Piazza Anfiteatro)

6:00 pm Award ceremony for the winning Crossbowman
