On Friday, October 2 at 5 pm, at the Lucca State Library, the volume The writings about the music of E.T.A. Hoffmann will be presented, published by L’Orma editor, curated and translated by the president of the Luigi Boccherini studi Center, Marco Mangani.

The work collects, for the first time in Italian, in a complete translation, all of Hoffmann’s musical writings: essays, reviews and reflections in which the great narrator of the fantastic – also composer, conductor and critic – affirms his own idea of music as absolute art.

Among the most important pages are the famous “direct-take” reviews of Beethoven’s symphonies and writings dedicated to Mozart, capable of opening a new path to music criticism of the Eighteenth century.

After the greetings of Maria Sabrina La Pusata, director of the Lucca State Library, Matteo Galli, professor of German Literature at the University of Florence and director of the Hoffmanniana de L’Orma necklace editor, and Marco Mangani himself will talk about it.

There will also be a representation of the publishing house that for years has dedicated a specific project to rediscovering the Hoffmann universe.

Music will be discussed and experienced: the presentation will be accompanied by the concert of the Trio d’ance a cura de la Filharmonie, formed by Leonardo Bulli on the oboe, Iacopo Carosella on clarinet and Filippo Riccucci on bassoon. IN ITALIAN
