Gaetano Nasillo is one of the most acclaimed cellists specializing in period instrument performance and the rediscovery of Italian repertoire. He graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of Rocco Filippini. After performing in leading contemporary music groups and Milan's leading orchestras, he devoted himself at a young age to the study of period instrument performance, combining the cello with the viola da gamba and specializing at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Paolo Pandolfo.
He immediately began collaborating with musicians such as Chiara Banchini, Jesper Christensen, and Enrico Gatti, also participating as a soloist in the activities of major European baroque ensembles: Ensemble 415, Concerto Vocale, Le Concert des Nations, Ensemble Aurora, Zefiro, and others.
