Eurocarnevale arrives in Lucca!
On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the city becomes the stage for one of Europe's largest events, welcoming over 800 musicians and performers from numerous countries, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, to the historic centre.
The Guggen Bands, renowned for their overwhelming energy, spectacular costumes, and engaging, ironic sounds, will enliven the streets and squares with performances from the morning onward. In the afternoon, at 2:30 pm, a grand parade will pass through some of the city's most iconic locations, transforming Lucca into an open-air stage where music, color, and tradition meet. Departing from Caffè delle Mura on Corso Garibaldi, it will arrive in Piazza Anfiteatro.
This international event, uniting diverse cultures under the banner of celebration, will officially open Lucca in Maschera 2026, kicking off a rich calendar of Carnival events.
✨ A unique opportunity to experience Lucca in a new light, between music, sharing, and a European atmosphere.
The partnership with the Viareggio Carnival has also been confirmed, with the grand parade returning to the Walls of Lucca on Sunday, February 8, 2026, winding through the city streets, bringing with it the magic of papier-mâché and the art of Tuscan Carnival.
