The 10th edition of Medieval Lucca Village is about to open this coming weekend at Baluardo San Paolino.
Since 2015, the Associazione Contrade di San Paolino organizes every year a real medieval village with the aim of retracing the history and daily life of an era that has always fascinated people of all ages.
Lucca Medievale is an event and a rich laboratory, in which social and symbolic activities represent a meeting point between the past and the present. Various historical re-enactment activities will be set up in the square: street shows, performances of falconry, medieval music and ancient medieval dances, fencing tournaments the demonstrations of great crossbow shooting on the bench. Since 2023 there has been greater emphasis in the research and design and preparation of the ancient medieval crafts and on how objects of common use were made.
The goal is to transmit the ancient customs and traditions in an engaging and interactive way and to strengthen the historical memory and the links with the past.
