The Lucca Summer Festival announces a major new event for its 2026 edition: on July 21st, Marcus Miller, one of the most influential artists in contemporary music, will take the stage in Piazza Napoleone with the special show "We Want Miles!", created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miles Davis, a figure who revolutionized jazz and the entire musical culture of the 20th century.
For this unique occasion, Miller will lead an all-star band made up of legends who played alongside Miles Davis, as well as top-notch musicians who have collaborated with him for years.
Marcus Miller will be joined by: Mike Stern (guitar) – six-time Grammy nominee, one of the most important guitarists on the international jazz-fusion scene. Bill Evans (sax) – one of the most recognizable voices of modern saxophone, a member of Miles' band in the 1980s. Mino Cinelu (percussion) – visionary percussionist, collaborator with Miles, Weather Report, Sting, and Pat Metheny. Completing the lineup: Russell Gunn (trumpet), Brett Williams (keyboards), and Anwar Marshall (drums), a constant presence on Miller's world tours.
