Five evenings, eleven concerts, a thousand shades of jazz: everything is ready for the 21st edition of Lucca Jazz Donna, an event promoted by the Lucca Jazz Club to promote female talent in a musical genre that for so long has only been dominated by female voices, but which in reality welcomes musicians, soloists, composers, and arrangers of the highest caliber.
Lucca Jazz Donna will close on Sunday, September 28th at 9:15 PM in San Francesco with the splendid voice of Antonella Ruggiero and her "Versatile Concerto," featuring all of her greatest hits, from "Roman Holiday" to the more recent "Echi d'infinito," interpreting songs that have shaped the history of Italian pop music in a completely new way. In recent years, Ruggiero has also experimented with music linked to Western,Indian, and African religious cultures, before moving on to Broadway, Portuguese fado, and singer-songwriter music.
This event is also free. Reservation details will be announced at the end of August.
As usual, for each date, a local association or organization will be present to introduce itself to the public and present its activities. The organizations involved in this edition are the La Luna Anti-Violence Center, the UNICEF Lucca Committee, the Don Baroni Association, Anffas Lucca, and Casa Mandorla (a sheltered housing community).
Lucca Jazz Donna is sponsored by the Tuscany Region and is organized with the patronage of the Province of Lucca and the support of the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, the Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation, the Municipality of Lucca, and the Municipality of Capannori. The event is also supported byFosber and Martinelli Luce. MORE INFO
