The Friday Note

  • M.O.C. 47 Via Nicola Barbantini Lucca, Toscana, 55100 Italy (map)

Lucca is so much more than just Comix and the Summer Festival; it is a vibrant, international community and The Friday Note is a wonderful opportunity to connect in a space dedicated to art, cinema, and music.

Through this project, we hope to create a genuine, lasting connection between those who have made the bold choice to move here from all over the world and the surprising artistic and English-speaking community of our city.

M.O.C.’s (Metropolis Officine Culturali) goal is to connect locals, international residents, tourists, visiting artists, passerby’s, etc. with Lucca's local creative community in English (and Italian!) friendly space to share ideas, experiences, art, share tips about life in Italy and abroad all while celebrating the city’s culture through music, cinema, and live performance.

The evening happens inside a prestigious film and acting academy and will be hosted by a master of ceremonies entirely in English. Beer, wine, finger foods and soft drinks will be available along with a live jazz band with the opportunity for the musicians in attendance to even join in for an open jam session.

There will also be English-language stand-up comedy as well as plenty of time to mingle, connect, network and meet new people. Between live sets, they’ll be spinning soul, jazz, funk, R&B, and bossa nova. Very chill, vibey and laidback.
