The Virtuoso and Belcanto Festival presents: Around Bach at Real Collegio featuring cellist Ling Zhu, Ruben Micieli, Till Fellner and Ektoras Karatzios Papaioannou on piano, and violinist Andrej Bielow, all accompiahed and renowned musicians.
Till Fellner’s international career began in 1993 with the victory of the first prize at the Clara Haskil – Vevey Competition (Switzerland). Since then he has been a regular guest of the main European, American and Japanese orchestras and concert halls, as well as numerous international festivals. As a soloist he performed with orchestras such as Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and NHK Symphony Orchestra.
Born in 1981 in Ukraine, Andrej Bielow has established himself as one of the most significant Ukrainian musicians of his generation. He has recorded more than 20 CDs, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, for labels such as Naxos, CPO, Avi-Music, Hänssler Classics, Hänssler-Profil, Guttingi, Solo Musica, Genuin, Hyperion and Rakete Media.
Praised by Jed Distler in Gramophone magazine as “a pianist with an iron fist in a velvet glove”, Ruben Micieli, pianist, conductor and composer, won second prize and the special prize for the best performance of Liszt’s Sonata in B minor at the 9th International F. Liszt Piano Competition Weimar – Bayreuth 2018, as well as more than 40 national and international competitions. In 2021, he was awarded the prize for best Italian performer at the 66th Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona.
