The project, conceived by Sibilla Drisaldi and Donald Buddy Hatch, is divided into several parts, including an exhibition that recounts the journey of freedom and resistance of the indigenous peoples of the United States through images, traditional objects, music, and testimonies.
Visitors will also be able to admire a painting by Leonard Peltier, the Native American leader who, after almost fifty years of unjust imprisonment, is now a universal symbol of resistance and dignity.
The project also includes the documentary Wounded Knee on the history of the struggles for Native American rights, land protection, and cultural rebirth from the 1970s to the present. This will be followed by a meeting with Donald Buddy Hatch, who will tell us the community history of members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe of Oklahoma, of which his family represents an important piece of contemporary history.
