On the occasion of World Heart Day 2025, Croce Verde Lucca and the Amici del Cuore Association are taking action with a two-day program of free meetings and visits dedicated to heart disease prevention. The event, a long-standing tradition sponsored by the City of Lucca, will take place on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th at Via delle Tagliate di S. Anna, 570, in the "Il Borgo" shopping area (Tagliate Parking), with access from both Via delle Tagliate and the Circonvallazione (passage next to Arca Planet).
The event will take place over two days, with multiple shifts. The first day (Saturday the 27th) will feature a morning shift (9:30 am to 1:00 pm) and an afternoon shift (3:00 pm to 6:00 pm); the second day (Sunday the 28th) will be open only from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The two associations will be available to the public, offering their expertise: the Croce Verde di Lucca will conduct free screenings for the prevention of Hepatitis C and will provide practical demonstrations of the use of a defibrillator in case of illness, as well as lessons in life-saving pediatric disobstruction procedures;
The Amici del Cuore di Lucca Association will be present with its CardioCamper, providing electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiology visits, primarily for the less well-off, to ensure everyone's right to healthcare.
Specifically, on Saturday, September 27th (morning and afternoon – by appointment only): Cardiology visits with electrocardiogram; Cardiology visits with echocardiography; Cardiovascular disease prevention visits;
Pediatric disobstruction lessons at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (duration approximately 1 hour).
On Sunday, September 28th (morning only):
Cardiology visits with electrocardiogram; Cardiology visits with echocardiography; Cardiovascular disease prevention visits; Pediatric pulmonary artery clearing lesson at 10:00 a.m. (duration approximately 1 hour).
