A TRIP TO ARGENTINA WITH GIAMPAOLO BANDINI AND CESARE CHIACCHIARETTA AND THE MUSIC OF PIAZZOLLA AND PUJOL
The Pieve a Elici Concerts, promoted by the Associazione Musicale Lucchese in collaboration with the Municipality of Massarosa , continue to be a success. For the fourth event, Thursday, July 17th at 9:15 PM , guitarist Giampaolo Bandini and bandoneonist Cesare Chiacchiaretta are expected in the splendid Romanesque parish church of San Pantaleone. The concert will be an emotional journey through South America, exploring the works of Piazzolla, Pujol, and Bardi: an experience sure to touch the audience's soul.
Formed in 2002, the Bandini-Chiacchiaretta duo was born with the aim of promoting Argentine music through its iconic instruments. They immediately established themselves on the international scene with their charisma and communicative power. In 2017, to mark their 15th anniversary, they released the album Escualo with DECCA, entirely dedicated to Astor Piazzolla. They performed the Double Concerto “Hommage a Liège” conducted by Leo Brouwer and Pavel Berman and have collaborated with orchestras such as the Moscow Virtuosi, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Silvestre Revueltas Orchestra, and others. Numerous composers have written for them, including Leo Brouwer ( La Folia a través de los siglos ), Daniel Binelli, Nicola Jappelli, and Maximo Diego Pujol ( Luminosa Buenos Aires, Sonata del Suburbio ).
