Montecatini City of Christmas

“Montecatini – City of Christmas: A Walk with the Elves” will open with the inaugural event on Sunday, November 16, featuring shows, performances, and the lighting of the large fir tree in Piazza del Popolo, brought from Falcade, a town between Veneto and Trentino.

It will be a true journey through time, celebrating Montecatini’s cultural vibrancy and lighting up the hearts of both children and adults with iconic decorations, building projections, citywide activities, and Christmas music throughout the town centre.

The streets will come alive with countless attractions, creating the City of Christmas—with magical spots such as the Enchanted Forest, the Ice Kingdom, the Elves’ Village, and much more.

The welcome area and information point will be located in Piazza del Popolo at the “Elves’ Kiosk”, where visitors can pick up the city map. The map includes a section to collect stamps after participating in various workshops and activities, allowing guests to receive gadgets and discount vouchers redeemable at participating local shops displaying a dedicated window sticker.

Along Viale Verdi, a Magic Portal with a photo corner will be set up, while the steps of the Town Hall will once again become the stage for the Little Christmas Theatre, hosting national-level musical performances, puppet shows, and street artists.

The real novelty for 2025 will be the animated video mapping projected onto the buildings of Piazza del Popolo — an emotional short video lasting a few minutes, repeated every half hour from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will also be three fixed entertainment points offering free shows, while the historic Kursaal on Corso Roma will be transformed into the Enchanted Forest and Elves’ Village, where visitors can discover the magical story told by the forest elves by scanning a QR code and enjoy Christmas-themed games and anecdotes. At the Elf’s Cabin, there will be creative workshops on weekends and face painting for the little ones.

The Pineta Park will host additional rides and attractions, connecting to Grocco and Tettuccio along the route, with themed carousels along Viale delle Tamerici and illuminated installations with selfie points.

All events are free and require no reservation.
