World Press Photo 2025

  • Villa Bottini 9 Via Elisa Lucca, Toscana, 55100 Italy (map)
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the World Press Photo, the most prestigious international photojournalism competition. The winning works were chosen from 59,320 images submitted by 3,778 photographers from 141 countries. These projects were created independently or on behalf of major international publications, including The New York Times, Associated Press, TIME, Agence France Presse, and NPR. This year, the independent jury recognized works that brought depth and nuance to some of the world's most pressing issues, from devastating conflicts and political turmoil to the climate crisis and the safe passage of migrants. This collection of stories from around the world demands our continued attention, challenging our preconceptions and encouraging all viewers to look deeper and find new perspectives.
Opening days and hours:
Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Saturday - Sunday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

World Press Photo is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes the power of photojournalism and documentary photography to deepen understanding, foster dialogue, and inspire action. Founded in the Netherlands in 1955, our annual and thematic exhibitions reach millions of people in over 80 locations worldwide each year, and our online work reaches millions more. We create spaces for reflection in times of urgency, while maintaining standards of accuracy, authenticity, visual excellence, and diverse perspectives. Our training programs help photographers achieve these standards, and the public recognizes them.
